by carrie on May 10, 2012

Whether heading back to school, out to the web cafe, or meeting with clients, our Patent Tote will add a little something to the moment.

Choose from either Tangerine and Ivory, or Black and Ivory Patent and accessorize with your favorite rhinestone charms or letters.  Slide your initials, company or event name, or twitter handle across the clever expression buckle and you’re good to go.

Made from PU these are wonderfully waterproof.  Lined with a water resistant striped material, you can also throw in a damp bathing suit or towel (for those meetings on the beach).  Measures  15.75″ H x 12″ W x 4″ Flat Bottom and has one interior pocket, and one exterior pocket.   Short handles have a 6″ drop, cross body strap adjusts from 10″ – 15.75″.  $40 – charms sold separately.

Treat Mom to some fabulous Summer footwear

by carrie on April 25, 2012

Even gals on a budget can make it special for Mom.  With Mother’s Day around the corner, wouldn’t these cute Sugar and Vine Flip Flops make a fabulous gift?  We love the graphic feel of the pewter roses cast against a white background matched with the simple rhinestone letters.  Flip Flops are just $20 and letters are just $3 each.

And as a reverse idea, how about these sleek Sugar & Vine Black Flip-Flops with white roses and velvety straps?

Lucky Charm ~ Lucky Horseshoe

by sugar on March 16, 2012

Horsepeople have long tacked the thrown shoes of their horses over doorways and onto gates to encourage good luck – always facing up to hold the luck.  According to LuckyMojo.com,  this practice originated in Europe, where you will find them nailed onto houses, barns, and stables from Italy through Germany and up into Britain and Scandinavia.

As horse lovers, we just adore anything associated with them, especially our lucky horseshoe with rhinestone nails with a sweet horse head smiling at us.  Wear this cute charm on a buckle bracelet, flip flops, key chain, or hat.   You’ll be all set for this year’s horse events at the Olympics, The Kentucky Derby, or even a game of horseshoes (you play that right?) or anywhere you need a little extra luck!

Spring is in the Air!

by sugar on March 8, 2012

It is in the high 60s in New York City today, and to celebrate the unofficial beginning of Spring, here are some style essentials to help you get a jump-start on the season! Kicking off our list is the awesomely-pink satchel from Cambridge Satchel Company - perfect to break up the New Yorker’s typical head-to-toe black and start the slow transition into Spring. Also try Sugar & Vine’s  tote bags, available in red and black - a customizable, fun and flirty alternative for the girl on the go!

Rory Beca for Forever 21

Rory Beca has been one of my favorite women’s contemporary designers for years. Her use of high-end materials combined with bright prints is perfect for any 20-something NYC girl. Now, she has collaborated with Forever 21 to bring her designs to the masses! Check out her line on www.Forever21.com and try to pick just one favorite!

The lightweight sweater is an essential layering piece for the changing season. It’s so easy to throw this on in the morning over a maxi-skirt, a pair of jeans and a tank or a cute dress. This one is from Wildfox Couture and combines key trends for spring – prints, pastels, and cropped anything!

The “new” rounded shape of sunglasses has been seen on everyone from Beyonce to Kate Moss – a bit reminiscent of John Lennon, but updated for 2012. These add a certain funkiness to any outfit, and are a nice change from the classic black Wayfarers you’ve been rocking all winter! Try these Illesteva Freida glasses, available at Net-A-Porter.

Two words – printed jeans! Add an unexpected twist to your ensemble with any of these awesome denim styles. To achieve the perfect look for spring, make sure they come right to the ankle and load on the accessories. Try the Elizabeth & James version with a basic tee and a pair of cute sneaks. {images via: refinery29, fashionista.com}

The warmer weather and shining sun means no more hiding behind those gorgeous locks! Get your hair out of that pretty face and soak up some rays in style with this bun – the perfect mix of laid-back and chic. Head on over to Mr.Kate’s post on the DIY sock bun to learn how to rock one yourself! {image: HelloGiggles}

Flip Flops – of course! The most obvious  sign spring is truly here is not the warmer weather – it’s the change in footwear. Toss away those clunky boots and opt for a pair of these awesome Sugar & Vine printed flip flops!
